Stanley Woods, an Irish motorcycle
racer, famous for 29 motorcycle GP wins and winning
the Isle of Man TT races 10 times in his career.
In 1968 a panel of experts named him the greatest
of all the island’s competitors. He returned
to the Island in 1957 to help celebrate the Golden
Jubilee by riding a 350cc Moto Guzzi round the
course at just over 82mph.

Wood's on a Velocette winning the 1938 Junior
TT is framed with a brass plaque and a list of
his 10 TT wins.
